CABO SAN LUCAS 2023

In January of 2023 we spent 2 weeks in Cabo San Lucas.  It was an active, interesting, fun place and great value for a vacation.  We found no need for a car and could walk everywhere or get an uber when needed .

Weather sunny the whole 2 weeks, but did get windy some days.  The temperature was very comfortable - mid 20's during the day and high teens at night.

We ordered a shared shuttle from the airport before we left home and for $25CAN,   we had a pre-planned  ride for the 45 minute trip from the airport to  our Condo.

We had an AirB&B in  quiet neighbourhood  a 20-30 min walk from the marina, shops and beaches.

Our AirB&B condo,  2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms .

Our  pool in the desert sand 😜  Landscaping was very well maintained, but no grass.

A fabulous view on a large balcony

To get killer views you have to up on a killer hill

We had some friends along the way.

On the Pacific Beach

We walked to Solmar and Pedregal Beaches on the Pacific Side of Lands End. There is NO SWIMMING allowed in the these Pacific beaches as the surf and current is very strong.   The beach is open to the public, but we had to go through the resorts to get there.  And since we had no wrist bracelets for the resort we had to be escorted through, but with no issues.

Divorce Beach is just on the other side of these rocks

Around the Marina

We spent a lot of time around the marina - people watching, sitting on rocks and watching the boats the sea lions and the pelicans, exploring the shops, going for groceries in the huge new Chadraui supermarket, having lunch, or just a margarita by the water.   The weather was sunny, in the mid 20's and was always great for a walk.

Shark-blood Margarita, anyone?

Someone got lucky Marlin Fishing

Guacamole made fresh table-side

Shrimp Tacos mmmmm!

This definitely got to be a habit.

The Beaches

Cannery  Beach

Cannery beach is a quieter beach good for snorkeling and used by locals.  We went on a Sunday afternoon and the beach was filled with families.  It was really great seeing all the kids and people with picnics and boomboxes playing lots of Mexican tunes.  AND no sales people.  A great afternoon!

Medano Beach

Medano beach is the largest swimming beach and lined with hotels

Lands End and El Arco

The Arch and Lovers beach at Land's End can only be reached by water taxi.  We went by on our whale watching boat.

Whale Watching

We used Cabo Nature Whale watching - a small company run by women marine biologists.  Highly recommended!   (cabonature.com)

The boat was small and the waves were choppy, but the whales were very active.  We had a fabulous day!

Around Town

Here are some photos from the streets around the town of Cabo San Lucas.  We did from 12,000- 15,000 steps every day (and it didn't even feel like exercise - until we had to climb our hill).  We liked that restaurants and stores were an easy walk away and Uber and taxis were cheap and easy.  Less than $10 for an Uber to Walmart.

The nice new Walmart was just as nice as home, but had an amazing wine/booze section

Waiting for our airport shuttle -  Time to say goodbye to a great vacation

And back home we go to the snow!
